Why am I writing this? I have no idea but life has been turbulent this year. On Christmas Day 2012 my aunt, then ages 92, collapsed and was taken to hospital. She is now in a care home.
In January my wife thought she might have a breast lump, she sent to her GP and on 1 March had a mastectomy. Since then life has been dominated by chemotherapy, blood tests, clinic visits etc etc.
She is now finished chemo and is recovering so life will get better.

- I am vegan. I do not eat meat or any animal products. I believe that this is one way to reduce my impact on the environment as I know that my diet requires less land and water that one involving meat. I also know that milk and beef production is a major source of greenhouse gasses. I like to keep fit but not by going to a gym I'd rather be in the fresh air. I enjoy cycling to and from work as it is a good way to get some gentle exercise on the way to work and to relax on the way home; it is only about 5 miles each way so not exactly strenuous. I work in a contact centre so spend my working day sitting either talking on the phone or answering emails. I am also helping out a bit with reading the news for a local community radio station, its really enjoyable and very interesting.
